COMMISSIONING
The process

We take your initial paper ideas & using CAD software convert these into a scale design/drawing called a cartoon. After the design has been finalised, we can focus on glass colours & textures.

Only after the final pattern has been approved & all the glass has been chosen we start to build the stained glass. We always give our clients updates during the building process, usually by sending some photographs.

Once the final product has been created, we arrange a convenient time to fit & install the glass personally.

Charges are by area (we calculate in square feet) plus the costs of any embellishments (such as roundels, glass jewels, antique glass or hand painted pieces). A 50% deposit will be required. Full payment needs to be paid on completion.
Hand painted focal pieces

We use the same method that has been used from the early 14th century. A kiln is heated & different metal oxide/chemical substances are hand painted & fired at different temperatures. This adheres to the glass permanently.

We only use the old traditional paints, which gives a unique & original look. Shades of black, different colours of ancient browns & stain silver are applied to the glass over several stages & fired each times creating a unique depth of different colours & shades directly on the glass. After the last firing has cooled, the panel can be assembled together.

We use original antique glass wherever possible most of our pieces are painted on clear hand blown textured glass to give a unique, individual look.
All of our hand painted works are original, bespoke, exclusively made for each project.
